Vadrien and Ariane

In celebration of Vadrien and Ariane’s story winning the 100 Word New Leaf Literary short story contest, I drew more art. Shocking right? I am so proud of my Dryad babies. I love their beautiful but tragic love story. I can’t wait to write more now.

Vadrien had one assignment: guard the nobles as they partied until midnight. No challenge there, yet he couldn’t seem to keep his eyes on his post. Again they wandered to the pink haired beauty standing silent, ready to serve her lady. No one spoke to her, not even her cousins.

Few knew how.

He clenched a hand. Now or never. Resolution kept his back straight and chin up as he approached. When he reached her she raised a quizzical brow.

Then he waved a hand, signing, Hello, I’m Vadrien.

With her first smile, he knew it was love.
