Dronan's Fall

This piece was inspired by my first New Leaf Literary’s New Year, New Love 100 word contest entry. I just had to draw these two after writing the snippet of their story. Read it below or my Tumblr.

Nearly midnight. Soldiers were coming. Dronan should go, but Eilis’ head of golden curls across his lap rooted him to the floor. He traced the curve of her cold cheek, leaving a red streak in the wake of his touch.

He’d killed them; friends, cousins, all dead in the halls around him. He hadn’t hesitated, even with the first. Not until Eilis. She’d been the true challenge of his loyalty. And with her last breath, Dronan made a resolution: no matter the years, never again would he love.

Not as long as he could see her blood on his hands.
